Providing everyday adventure for young people in Loughborough

Volunteer With Us

Everything we do is run by volunteers. Without them there are no meetings, camps or adventures, and every extra pair of hands means more young people get a place.

You don’t need any experience of Scouting, and you don’t need to be able to give lots of time. Parents, carers, grandparents, students and anyone else with a bit of time to share are all welcome.

Ways to help

  • Weekly with a section. Help run Squirrels, Beavers, Cubs or Scouts meetings as a leader or a regular helper.
  • Now and then. Lend a hand at a camp, a trip, an evening activity or an event, or share a skill you have.
  • Behind the scenes. Help look after our hut, raise funds, manage bookings, or join the trustee board that runs the group.

What to expect

We’ll have a chat about what you’d like to do and how much time you have. Scouts provides free training and support for volunteers, and like all Scout volunteers you’ll complete some short safety and safeguarding training. Most roles also need a background check, which we’ll help you with.

A place for your child

If you volunteer with us every week as a uniformed leader, your child can join as soon as a space becomes available. See our Admissions Policy.
